Does it Hurt When Your Gums Begin to Recede?

Posted on 8/24/2020 by SRD Tuscumbia
Does it Hurt When Your Gums Begin to Recede? There are various reasons why your gums could begin to recede.

One of the major causes of gum recession or jaw repositioning is the loss of teeth. When there is a gap in the jaw, this automatically causes the jaw to recede and it can create gum recession over time. While many people believe it is fine to avoid the gap in your teeth and ignore it as long as it doesn't cause any problems, you should remember that when there is a gap in your jaw, this will eventually lead to gum recession and this condition is quite painful over time.

What Gum Recession Can Lead To?

When your gums recede, your teeth move as well, and this often causes exposure of the root of your tooth and the nerve.

This could lead to severe tooth sensitivity and it means that every time you eat something hot or cold, you may go through a lot of pain. This does not happen instantly and it gradually starts occurring which means you may begin to feel slight pain which will eventually grow into severe pain over time. Instead of ignoring this slight pain, it makes a lot of sense to get it treated from the start.

One of the best ways to avoid gum recession is to fill in the gaps and ensure that there is a tooth that replaces the empty space. One of the best ways to replace missing teeth is to get dental implants.

If you haven't filled up the tooth yet and the pain has already begun, then you may want to consider alternative treatment procedures that can help repair the tooth sensitivity.

This problem often leads to a tooth infection, which is not healthy because this begins to affect the gum and you could end up with infections that will take a long time to heal.
